Colour, A4 or US Letter, on the heaviest paper your printer takes. Two signs to a sheet at 120mm square.

Cut and put it up

A cut line round every sign. Laminate it or slip it into a clear wallet if the door gets wiped down.

A sheet that says where

The pack opens with one page on which sign goes where, and at what height.

What is in the pack

  • Toilet โ€” On the toilet door itself, on the handle side.
  • Bathroom โ€” On the bathroom door. Keep it separate from the toilet sign.
  • Shower โ€” On the shower room door, where that is a separate room.
  • Bedroom โ€” Use above or beside a resident's own name plate, not instead of it.
  • Dining Room โ€” On the dining room door, and on the approach if it is down a corridor.
  • Living Room โ€” On the main sitting area door.
  • Sitting Room โ€” For a second, quieter lounge, so the two read differently.
  • Kitchen โ€” On the kitchen or servery door.
  • Activities Room โ€” On the activities or day room door.
  • Nurses Station โ€” On the staff base, office or nurses station.
  • Stairs โ€” On the stairwell door.
  • Exit โ€” On the exit door residents and visitors are meant to use.

There is no office sign in this pack โ€” we do not have that artwork drawn yet. Nurses Station covers the staff base.

Free dementia signage you can actually use

Most free dementia signage you find online is a clip-art pictogram on a white background. These are not. Each sheet is a full sign: a dark panel with the room name in large, mixed-case lettering, a single pictogram on a contrasting ground, and a wood-effect face โ€” the same artwork we manufacture. Printed on paper, it lets you try the wording and the positions on real doors before anybody orders anything.

Paper peels, fades and curls, which is the honest argument for the made version rather than a reason not to start. When you are ready, the same designs are made to order in 5mm solid acrylic with a textured 3D-printed image, in eight colours, and they survive cleaning. See the range and build your own sign.
